FSRA Think Tank at The Learning Group

On Wednesday 15th October 2003, The Learning Group invited experts in the Financial Services field to come along and discuss the Financial Services Reform Act (FSRA) in relation to online learning. Learning & Development Managers, Compliance Managers & FSRA Consultants all joined us for breakfast to discuss such topics “Where is FSRA heading online?”, “What are the burning issues?”, “What are the major organisations doing now?” and “Can e-learning answer the need?

Not surprisingly, the overwhelming response was a need to invest in and develop sustainable continuing education as the major priority. Professional development, suitable assessment methods, measuring competencies, ownership and responsibility were areas that our guests identified as being important, and they were happy to share 'stories' and ways that issues had been resolved previously.

The Think Tank reinforced that e-learning can and is playing a major role in the current corporate compliance training environment. While it might not be the only solution, its uptake is certainly steady if not on the increase.

A very relaxed and informative two hours later, we were approached by some of our attendees to organise more events on this subject matter. Compliance training, especially financial services reform, still seems to be a hot topic for all.

If you 'd like to find out more about this or any other e-learning ‘hot topic’, please contact Mark Samuels or Anette Karlsson from our Business Solutions team. Or, come along to one of our future events. There’s no cost, and the information flows freely, just like the great coffee. Plus breakfast is on us! Check out our Events page for more information.
