Department of Defence e-Learning Practitioners' Workshop
The Learning Group's Business Development team (Anette Karlsson, Ruth Thompson & Scott Hall-Watson), recently appeared in Canberra, as a part of the "Department of Defence's e-Learning Practitioners' Workshop". This event was held at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) from 9-11 March 2005, and invited all Training practitioners from within Defence, to come together from around Australia to discuss best practise, and the way forward, for e-learning within the Department of Defence. With keynote speaker Dr. Thiagi appearing in the AIS Theatrette with his presentation "Faster, Cheaper and Better Approach to e-Learning Design" - he certainly got people talking passionately, about "what is" and "what isn't" required to make good e-learning!
The Learning Group's display was in the "Silver Room" (the sporting theme was strong at the AIS!), as a part of the approved Panel of Providers of e-learning solutions. Here the delegates shared their ideas and plans for advancing their e-learning goals with us, and they heard from The Learning Group about what we have already achieved within the Department of Defence in the last 12 months.
