Multimedia Students Learn from The Learning Group
On Friday, 10th June, The Learning Group was visited by a group of Year 11 Students from the Illawarra Christian School. The students are studying "Industrial Technology: Multimedia Industries", a HSC subject looking at a holistic view of the multimedia industry, including learning the theory and practise of a wide range of multimedia technologies and also looking at how a multimedia business works. The Learning Group agreed to speak to the students, providing them with some insight into the workings of a multimedia company, and what was said will form a major part of their assessment, including HSC questions.
Speaker's topics ranged from "Introduction to the Company", "Management and People", "Finding Clients", "How Projects Work", Instructional Writing and Design", "Visual Design", "Development" and "Quality Control".

Below is an excerpt from the Thank You note we received fom Bruce Price, the student's teacher, who was with students on the day:
"... We would just like to thank you for taking the time to tell us about your company when we visited. We could see how busy everyone is and so we appreciated being squeezed into your schedules. Everyone was friendly and open and we felt very welcome.
The information you presented gave us a very good understanding of the processes you go through to construct a project and what sort of work a multimedia company of this scale does. We have started to pull the information together into the categories the Board of Studies syllabus requires and we have lots to work with, thanks to everyone who spoke to us.
The students were very impressed with what you do and the work environment you have. There were a few who were picturing themselves sitting at your desks getting arty with designs, going to important meetings and attending those 'parties' that we were told about.
