TLG “Athletes” at Corporate Triathlon
At a brisk 6:30am on Sunday the 15th of April, 4500 athletes, including three of TLG’s finest, congregated at Lady Macquarie’s Chair to compete in the annual BP Ultimate/ BRW Corporate Triathlon National Series 2007.
TLG’s Triathlon Team Leader, Will, recruited Tom and Dan to compete in the event, and despite initial reluctance to participate, the team battled the constraints of borrowed equipment and questionable fitness to finish an astounding 869th out of 1500 teams. Beautiful weather, combined with outstanding attendance saw the guys complete a 400 metre swim, 8 kilometre bike ride and 4 kilometre run. Not even a broken bike chain could hold the TLG team – The Learned Lizards – back!
TLG look forward to competing again next year with an even stronger team and a considerable year’s worth of training in preparation!
