Getting a Grasp on... Two New Generic Modules!
The Learning Group is excited to announce two new titles - "Getting a Grasp on Information Security" and "Influencing Climate Change - Making an Impact at Work".
These two titles have been developed to address two key issues within Australian organisations currently - the importance of security of information and climate change awareness.
They follow the successful formula of TLG's generic suite of modules, using easy to understand language, interesting visual design and interactive and engaging instructional design.
For more on the "Getting a Grasp on..." series, please take a look at the Our Specialties page or to enquire about any of these modules, please Contact one of our Business Solutions team.

An afternoon on the green
When TLG staff were told recently that they were to have an afternoon out and only told to bring their hats and sunscreen - they were begging to know what the plan was.
"Are we going horse-riding?" "I know! We'll be rock climbing!" "Is it an afternoon in the park?" "Are we going ten-pin bowling?"
That last guess was close - TLG was off for an afternoon of Barefoot Lawn Bowls! Everyone piled into a bus and off they went to Kensington Bowls Club, where the fantastic staff gave them all a tutorial on the finer points of the game, then they were set loose on the greens!
Each group played a few ends to hone their skills before a tournament was announced! It was hotly contested, but Cathy, Sally, Shamil and Sohail triumphed in the end!
Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all of TLG for a terrific day!
CEO Triumphant in Easter Bunny Hunt
When there's any sort of competitive event at The Learning Group, participants had better come prepared!
With the hunt restricted to our reception area, hiding spots were highly inventive, such as behind a chair leg, under the newspaper and in the flower arrangement.
Highlights of the hunt included two staffmembers lunging for the same bunny, almost headbutting a wall and breaking the bunny in two, as well as (in what he later labelled 'a fair and equal... ok maybe not equal') competition, CEO Mickey Clark came up against Business Solutions Consultant Cathy. After much pushing, shoving and name throwing, the competition ended with Mickey triumphant and Cathy decidedly sour.
At the end of the day, Mr B. Rabbit was exhausted and all he wanted to do was catch up on the latest business news.
TLG Christmas in November
The Learning Group decided to Beat the Christmas Rush and hold its 2007 end of year party early.
So on Thursday 15th November TLG, our clients, and business partners converged on our Sydney offices for what we think must have been the first party of the season!
Santa made an appearance, the office was decorated beautifully, and the usual TLG fun and games were had, including a present-toss into Santa sacks and a money grab in a 'blizzard room', with the winnings being donated to charity.
A great time was had by all and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

A bit of news from TLG...
Anette Karlsson, our Business Solutions Manager, has left The Learning Group after over 5 years. Anette has accepted a position in Business Development with SAP, a little global software vendor you may have heard of, and we are very proud of her.
This position demonstrates to us what a tremendous talent she is, but we already knew that, didn’t we? The Learning Group will miss her greatly, and wishes her the very best happy trails…
We are happy to announce that Daniel Meek will be joining us as Director of Business Solutions, replacing Anette. Dan has worked for many years at SkillSoft as Sales Manager for Australia, and has most recently been highly successful as a Regional Director in expanding the very popular Books 24x7 in the Asia Pacific region.
Dan will join Janine Trapp, Chief Operations Officer, Herman Coomans, Development Manager of webridge, Lily Quan, Business Manager, and Mickey Clark as a part of TLG’s Executive Team. We are very much looking forward to Dan’s contribution to the wild world that is custom e-learning at TLG.
