Project:
Heat Stress Awareness
Our Brief:
- The Heat Stress Awareness module was designed as a reactive training solution to a very serious risk within Defence.
- It required the ability to get factual information to the learner whilst ensuring they understood the seriousness of the matter at hand - the dangers of the conditions in which Department of Defence Military Service Personnel operate and are exposed to on a daily basis.
Our Solution:
The Learning Group developed a simple interface using visual representation of the alarming risks involved in day-to-day training and operations in the Australian Defence Forces.
The graphics used to show these facts were to increase the learner's understanding of just what can happen under such circumstances.
The interactive design of the module gives learners the ability to alter the atmospheric temperature, water intake and physical activity levels in order to learn about the effects of the extreme and varying working conditions they may experience as Military Service Personnel.
Utilising a very basic layout with an emphasis on the interactivity component, allowing learners to interact with the graphic on the right whilst gaining an understanding through the theory on the left, the Heat Stress module quickly became a necessity in the Department of Defence.
It's realistic and raw aesthetic approach reflect that of the initial hard-hitting need for such a course.
