Our Office Fining System and Benefits
How do you enforce all those little office rules, but still keep everyone happy? You initiate the Swear Jar Philosophy. The Learning Group has been operating an office "fine" system for the last two years that originated from a swear jar idea. "If you swear and a client is in the office, you put a dollar in the jar." This expanded to become an office fining system that charged TLG staff for any misdemeanour within the office. Forget to clean up a cup, or come in late without calling? One dollar! Forget to send a Status Report? One dollar!
Obviously, some people do enjoy the chasing up of a fine more than others, and we especially love catching out Mickey. The upside to this is that once we raise enough money, Mickey takes us all out to the movies. This keeps everyone on their toes and the fining system provides a nice little ice-breaker for those minor problems. Recently we popped out to see "The Italian Job" and absolutely loved it!
