OUR SPECIALTIES : GETTING A GRASP ON SERIES

The "Getting a Grasp on..." Series

In response to our clients’ ever increasing need to deliver engaging and effective compliance training, The Learning Group is now offering a solution - The “Getting a Grasp on…” series. The “Getting a Grasp on…” series consists of easy-to-understand, generic e-learning modules to teach your staff what they need to know about Privacy, Fair Trading, OH&S, EEO, General Insurance Code of Practice and Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Funding.

These courses can be easily customised to suit your organisation’s branding and preferred workplace terminology. The series offers organisations, small to large, a cost effective and practical way of providing critical training to employees.

Your employees will not have to wade their way through complicated legalese – this is scenario-based, interactive and compelling training for your staff, in plain English. They’ll remember it because they’ll understand it, and will apply what is learnt in work-based scenarios, with detailed feedback. Designed for a broad range of learning levels, the learner will be able to start, stop and restart the module as many times as needed, with information on their progress always being retained.

All compliance modules also contain an assessment with alternate question pools – giving the learner different assessment experiences – with detailed tracking for management reports through The Learning Group’s LearningPath reporting tool, or a client’s own LMS. We also offer hosting of these compliance modules using The Learning Group’s LearningRoomTM system, the Talent2 Southrock LMS or Cornerstone OnDemand platform.

Optionally, clients are able to select whether or not they wish to allow learners recognition of prior learning (RPL), at either a topic or course level, for the purposes of minimising training time for those that believe they already have an appropriate understanding of the topic.

How is the “Getting a Grasp on…” Series Different from Other e-Learning Compliance Offerings?

  • Easy-to-understand content written for training effectiveness, not full of legalese.
  • Higher levels of interactivity – we ensure that each module incorporates interactivity (other than clicking a “Next” button!) on at least 40% of all pages.
  • Scenario-driven interactions – what would your staff do in certain situations?
  • NewsFlash! – allows client administrators, to add same-day warning messages to learners – e.g. the results of a court case involving compliance issues.
  • Legal updates – The Learning Group provides legal content updates to all of the “Getting a Grasp on…” series modules on a 6 monthly basis.
  • Legal conformance – The Learning Group has engaged a prominent legal firm to sign off on all compliance content prior to our client’s legal teams’ review. This ensures that the compliance content you deliver to your employees accurately reflects current legislation.
  • Option of using LearningRoomTM  as your delivery system – incorporating LearningMailTM which provides a way to “push” training materials out to your employees and external advisers, automatically sending follow-up reminders and refreshers, and tracking each step of the process.
  • Management reporting

Our Implementation Process

  1. Initial Requirements Definition – we meet with the client to clearly understand their training requirements and implementation issues.
  2. Content Review/Change Requests – the client content and legal teams review our scripts and interfaces, and request changes. The Learning Group then estimates the changes required, and a decision is reached as to the scope of the customisation.
  3. Change Development – The Learning Group processes the changes, documents them, tests them, and delivers an acceptance copy of the module to the client.
  4. Client Acceptance – the client reviews the module, makes any final requests for change, and accepts the delivery.
  5. Client Rollout – the client launches the compliance rollout to the targeted learning audience.

How do Clients Get Customisation?

As part of the installation of our compliance products, we include varying levels of customisation per module.  Customisation requests may include:

  • Client logo
  • Client interface colours
  • Changes to wordings, including scenarios and interactions
  • Additional and eliminated wordings or topics
  • Interface with a client’s HR or Learning Management System
