What is LearningRoom?

LearningRoom represents a new generation of e-learning solutions; one that solves many of the problems in the first generation e-learning world.

We now know that:

  1. employees need their learning to reflect the way they learn - in multiple, sustained learning intervals, not in long standalone courses, taken once and soon forgotten;
  2. employees need their learning to be easier to find - companies need easier ways to automatically follow-up "reluctant" employees; and
  3. companies need user-friendly development tools to create and deploy their e-learning to employees.

LearningRoom is a hosted system, which allows you to create, schedule, deliver and report on, online learning activities.

Use it to train or communicate to any targeted group: employees, business partners, customers, suppliers, members, business agents, external representatives, and others.

1. LearningRoom provides sustained learning for employees.

Conventional training does not fit the needs of a large majority of adult learners in the workplace.

In conventional training models, learners generally have a series of "single" experiences in which they learn, interact, apply, review, and usually pass some sort of assessment.

Then it's over - until the next course.

Basic adult learning principles tell us this - the more often a learner encounters and interacts with a set of learning materials, the more likely it is the materials will be remembered and applied in the workplace, especially if these learning events are spread over time. We call this process "sustained learning".

LearningRoom is designed to deliver sustained learning, a series of brief learning encounters which increases employee interaction with learning materials, shortens employee training time, and increases the retention of the material.

And rather than asking employees to find the learning assigned to them, LearningRoom activities can also be delivered directly to them via email, with an exciting new technology, "LearningMail".

2. LearningMail makes e-learning easier for employees to find.

Employees don't always access the learning materials assigned to them.

In fact, they sometimes forget where to find them, or they often have trouble fitting them into their busy days.

LearningMail "pushes" the training to employees, rather than waiting for them to come and get it. It is designed to keep training on an employee's radar throughout the year, and saves learning and development administration time by generating automated reminder and follow-up e-mails.
