What are ThinkBreaks?
A ThinkBreak is a small interactive learning or communication object which is “pushed” to employees, using standard email, subscription, or mobile technologies, and which utilises detailed response tracking.
A ThinkBreak can communicate an important change initiative to employees and request a response. It can perform rapid training in a critical area of the business, and can reinforce something they’ve learned previously, providing them with a quick interactive executive video presentation, allowing them to listen to quick tips from colleagues on handling customers, products, or providing a bit of expert advice...
ThinkBreaks acknowledge the realities of today’s employees and managers, who are time-poor, increasingly faced with information overload, and who don’t always pay attention. Simply put, they are “pauses” in an employee’s normal workday.
More importantly, a ThinkBreak is not simply reading something online. It gets employees to interact with the materials presented, and provides detailed tracking on their responses.
ThinkBreaks can be assembled into learning campaigns – much like the world of advertising, small bits of interactive communication and learning can be easily strung together into different experiences – targeted at the specific needs of different groups of employees or managers.
ThinkBreaks may involve audio or video resources, as well as Web 2.0 collaborative models such as podcasts, wiki, blog and web quest technologies.
